Tres chicos comunes, fanáticos de los cómics, terminan obteniendo poderes reales de superhéroes después de liberar accidentalmente fuerzas que no deberían haber despertado. A partir de ahí, sus vidas cambian por completo: pasan de ser simples lectores de historietas a protagonistas de una batalla contra monstruos que vienen de otra dimensión.
